Downloading books on to the Victor Reader Stream:

Category: accessible Devices

I wasn't to sure as to where to post this topic so forgive me if i've put it in the wrong spot. I recently have received a V R Stream and truly love it. The question that i have is I have downloaded a book from www.overdrive.com and transferred it to the stream. I then tried to play it and for some reason I can not play it. The files are there but they won't play. I saved the book in to the other books folder making a sub-folder for it. Is there something else I need to do?
Sorry, if this is the wrong place to post this question.

Is the book text or MP3?

It's probably got drm protection in which case it won't play on the victor stream.

I think I saw something that said they will now play on the Stream. In any case, you might check out accessibleworld.org. They are having a podcast on how to download books using the Stream Companion Software this Monday night/Tuesday morning, depending on where you are located.

No, overdrive books will not play on the Stream, unless they are in the MP3 format. Most of the books are protected, so they will not play. There's only a select few that will.

Hello everyone!

Thanks for all of your help. I truly appreciate it. I have been able to finally sign up for the talking book down load program through NLS and am enjoying it.

My local librarian told me that I could put overdrive books on to the Victor but I think that the person who said that there are only a select few books that I can download was correct.

Thanks guys!!

Smiles,

Patti
